Fraternity Recruitment Begins!

For most guys here at Virginia Tech, spring semester is recognized as being a very memorable time for a multitude of reasons. For one, it is one semester closer to summer, which will bring with it internships, work-study programs and most important of all, freedom. Then there is the fact that the Virginia Tech’s campus will only continue to get colder, despite the fact that it is after all, “spring” semester. Knowing this, walking across the Drillfield at 8 a.m. will become much less appealing, when one could just as easily remain within the safe, warm, and inviting confines of their bed.  But most importantly of all, who could fail to recognize the absence of the lovely ladies of the Panhellenic Council as well as, all of the women, and potential new members of sororities here at Tech.

So with all of this in mind, I wouldn’t blame the man who finds the beginning of spring semester so hectic as well as debilitating that they forget that fraternity recruitment will take place on the heels of formal sorority recruitment. But I assure you, IFC’s Director of Recruitment, Mario Gazzola, a proud member of Delta Sigma Phi, with the help of ingenuity, a vision of how recruitment should be run, alongside a smidgeon of Facebook spam is here to make sure that you remain updated, motivated, and provided with ample opportunities to form a bond with an organization that you will love and appreciate. “In years past the only thing IFC has done has been put on the Greek Showcase and have one orientation session, but this year we are getting a lot more involved in general marketing,” Mario goes on to say, “Our goal with all of this is to increase the flow of information to potential members so that they can make a more informed decision on which organization they would like to commit themselves to for life.”

With a slew of recruitment events taking place in the next couple of weeks, make sure to visit, as well as become a friend of VT Fraternity Rush on Facebook, here, crafted by IFC’s own Mario Gazzola, to stay on top of all that is Greek. Also make sure to RSVP for one of the 3 remaining Greek Orientations taking place as well, by clicking here.
